The more Asset Managers you employ the greater your chances of getting a lower rent.
Do not place your property for rent with several Asset Managers. You may think this will increase your chance of finding a tenant, but it decreases your chance of getting the highest rent.
All of those Asset Managers will be in a hurry to rent your property before someone else rents it.
The lease will be most important. The rent will be forgotten.
Tenants will use the Asset Manager who can obtain your property for the lowest rental.
Test this yourself. When you see one property with several Asset Managers, call them all and ask this question: “What is the lowest rent I can get this for?” You will be told different rents.
The saying goes that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
It is hard enough when tenants shop around for properties, but do you also want them shopping around for the weakest Asset Manager too?
Hire a specialist
If you follow the advice in this booklet “Get the Highest Rent for Your Property”, you will seek out a professional Asset Manager – a trained leasing agent – who will lease your property in the shortest time frame.
You should understand, however, that few Asset Managers are structured to deliver this.
Ask questions. Discover whether your preferred choice of Asset Manager understands that every day your property is vacant is costing you.
